Please note: this article addresses the Retro Receiver for NES with the original Nt mini only - not Nt mini Noir

With the Retro Receiver for NES, you can use over 12 controllers wirelessly on your Nt mini. This includes all 8Bitdo's controllers and arcade sticks, PS4, PS3, Wii U Pro, and the Wii Mote. You can find pairing instructions for each controller on 8Bitdo's website here.

If you are using an additional Retro Receiver for NES (not the one included with your Nt mini) we suggest using a special firmware for our optimized button mapping. You can find the latest Retro Receiver for Nt mini firmware here.

If you use a different firmware, your Retro Receiver will still function, but it will have different button mapping. You can find 8Bitdo's latest Retro Receiver for NES firmware here.

Troubleshooting your NES30 and Retro Receiver

Ensure your console has the latest firmware installed.

Ensure your controllers are charged.

Try to decrease the distance between your controller and the Nt mini console.

Ensure that the Nt mini console is placed to minimize interference with the controller. It is best if the Nt mini console is placed out in the open and that it is not:

  • Behind a TV
  • Near an aquarium
  • Placed in or under a metal object
  • Pressed against a large amount of wires and cords
  • Within three to four feet of another wireless device, such as a wireless speaker or a wireless access point.

Check for possible sources of interference and turn them off. Interference can be caused by devices, such as:

  • Laptops, tablets, etc.
  • Wireless headsets
  • Wireless printers
  • Microwaves
  • Wireless speakers
  • Cordless phones
  • USB 3.0-compatible devices such as hard drives, thumb drives, LAN adapters, etc.

In most cases it will be enough to move these devices three to four feet away from the Nt mini console and/or controllers. However, if you continue to experience this issue, please power these devices off while using the Nt mini console.
